Application Use Cases

The heart of the API is the Global Matrix XML Schema Specification. It is in this specification where it defines the rules and specifications of the booking information that is transmitted to Global Matrix via the API. Every booking information, resulting from activity such as a sale, a refund or a void, must conform to the Global Matrix XML Schema Specification in order for the data to be processed and stored into the Global Matrix database.

The following are use cases that will be supported by the Global Matrix API.

1. Creating Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) Ticket for Sales
2. Creating Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) Ticket for Refund
3. Creating Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) Ticket for Void
4. Creating Non BSP Ticket for Sales
5. Creating Non BSP Ticket for Refund
6. Creating Non BSP Ticket for Void
7. Creating Sales Records for Car Bookings
8. Creating Sales Records for Hotel Bookings
9. Creating a Gift certificate through issuing a Non BSP Ticket and Receipt

Note, each of these minimized XML Schema is a subset of the Global Matrix Schema. The minimization took place only to assist a business partner to formulate the simplest XML record for that use case.
