Global
Matrix API
Documentation
Change Management:
1. Development
The development of this API follows the standard source management practices that Global Matrix currently employs for developing J2EE web applications. CVS is used as Global Matrix’s source repository on a Windows NT box and will continue to be used to support the source control of this API. All development takes place in a Windows environment, and true to Java’s portability promises, the API is deployed on a Linux box for Quality Assurance and Production implementations.
2. Promotion
The promotion of changes to the API follows Global Matrix’s task oriented development methodology. Software changes are built in the Development environment and are packaged in a task environment. These packages are then passed on to the QA department who is responsible in promoting these changes to their environment for testing. Once these changes are signed off by QA and approved for promotion to production, System Administrators and Database Administrators will implement these changes to the production environments.
